The Brusino Arsizio - Serpiano cable car, with its to-and-fro movement, is a system of great importance in the history of technology as the first fully automatic to-and-fro cable car in Switzerland.

The installation is based on a system developed by the engineer Karl Peter from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and was built with an ideal layout from the point of view of cableway technology with a single pylon; it is the only installation of its kind in Switzerland.
Largely preserved in its original state, this Ticino cableway is impressive not only for the technical rarity of the installation, but also for the construction of the stations typical of the time and of excellent architectural quality.

The cable car is still the fastest means of transport for visiting the Monte San Giorgio region, which was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003.

In operation from Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., runs every 45 minutes.

July and August Fridays and Saturdays: evening operation until 9.30 p.m.
